Jason Reitman's (Thank You for Smoking; Juno; Up In the Air) upcoming movie got its first poster. Young Adult stars Charlize Theron (Monster) and Patrick Wilson (Little Children), between others, and it was written by Diablo Cody (Juno). The awesome looking debuted posters resemble a book, with a very elucidative picture about how's Theron's character and an awesome way to show the director's previous credits (that golden stamp)... I think there's no better words to describe this poster than "smart", "appealing" and "awesome" in spite of seeming a bit too pink for a movie for grow-ups, but it can be the intention, specially when there's a slogan like "Everyone gets old/Not everyone grows up"! Young Adult will be released in 16th December and it is considered an Oscar contender in a big couple of categories including Best Picture. Here's the movie poster:
According to Entertainment Weekly, "That Steven Spielberg is one busy guy. In addition to directing this year’s The Adventures of Tintin and War Horse, plus next year’s biopic Lincoln, the filmmaker is also preparing his 2013 project, Robopocalypse. More details about the sci-fi action movie emerged today. For one, DreamWorks and Twentieth Century Fox will be co-financing the (likely big-budget) production, according to a statement released by both studios. (Deadline first reported the news.) And Disney’s Touchstone Pictures will be distributing the picture domestically on July 3, 2013. Based on the recent novel by Daniel H. Wilson, Robopocalypse is about humanity’s struggle to survive a global robotic uprising. Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) is adapting the book for Spielberg, who is expected to start shooting the project next year in the late spring". Well, I don't know what do you think, but after seeing J.J. Abraams' Spielberg style Super 8, I wanted to see Steven Spielberg doing another science-fiction movie and it seems that he listened to my prays! A.I.: Artifical Intelligence was good, very good indeed, and it was about robots, but Robopocalypse promises something more thrilling, a kind of A.I. mixed with War of Worlds... Excited for this one!
Sweden's Best Foreign Picture Oscar submission's, Beyond, movie trailer was released. The movie is the directorial debut of Pernilla August (Anakin Skywalker's mom in Star Wars prequels) and it stars Noomi Rapace (Swedish movie adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) and Ola Rapace (Noomi Rapace's real-life husband) and, according to IMDb, it is "a drama set in 1970s Sweden and centered on a young woman's experiences growing up in a home riddled with abuse and alcoholism". The movie looks good and while there's no guarantee about a Best Foreign Picture Oscar nomination for Beyond, Noomi Rapace's presence elevates the movie, for sure! Here's the movie trailer:
